SCHOOLING MISHAP

A. R. Swanson Injured A Rlccarton jockey. A. K< Swanson, was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital on Saturday morning after he had suffered back and leg injuries in a schooling mishap. Swanson was schooling the novice jumper Acrobat for the first time over four standard hurdles. The horse crashed through the Inside wing of th* second flight, was remounted, but attempted to run off again at the fourth. As he approached the fence he veered to the right then quickly ducked off to th* left and Swanson was flung against the wing. Swanson suffered two crushed vertebrae, internal bruising, end damaged a ligament in a knee.
