RELICS OF PAST

A curious curved metal object displayed at the inaugural meeting of the Society of Rural History (Canterbury) this week caused some interest. Mr C. J. Crosbie explained that it was fitted In a horse collar as a liner and spent all of its time as a medium for smuggling whisky Into the King Country. Other items were a spool of wire for an old wire binder and a straight knife coulter.
