PUBLIC NOTICES GREY COUNTY COUNCIL NOTIFICATION OF WEIGHT LIMITS (AND . SPEED UNIT) FOR TARAmAKAU BIVER BRIDGE WHEREAS it is provided by regulation 9 (1) and (2) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955 that no person shall operate on or over any bridge which is under the control of a controlling authority any heavy motor vehicle which exceeds the weight limits (or shall cause any heavy motor vehicle to pass over any such bridge at a speed in excess of the speed limit) for the time being in force and fixed with respect to that bridge pursuant to these regulations within the immediate proceeding twelve months. Notification is hereby given that the Grey County Council, being the controlling authority in reaped of the Taramakau Bridge situated on the KumaraMitchells Main Highway In the Grey County, has fixed as from the 12/7/68 the following weight limits (and speed limit) for heavy motor vehicles using the said bridge, that is to say: The maximum weight of any such heavy motor vehicle and its load shall not exceed 24 tons gross. The maximum portion of the weight of any such heavy motor vehicle and its load (including any equipment or accessories) transmitted to the road surface by the tyre or tyres which are attached to the wheels on any one axle shall not exceed «1 tons. The maximum speed at which any such heavy motor vehicle may pass over the bridge shall not exceed 1# miles an hour. Attention is called to regulation 17 of the said regulations, which fixes a penalty of 3100 for each offence against the regulations. Heavy Transport operators are hereby notified that in respect of their particular vehicles it may be possible to issue (by way of permit) special axle weight loadings. All operators requiring overload permits are requested to contact the undersigned. D. C.
