TEACHING POST

Mr B. Ross, a bachelor of physical education from British Columbia. was appointed temporarily as a biology teacher at Mairehau High School by the board of governors this week. The headmaster (Mr A. B. Ryan) said that Mr Ross was one of two yachtsmen who had sailed down the Pacific in the yacht Nexus and had arrived in Lyttelton. Mr Ryan said that the field was a difficult one for recruiting teachers in. Zoology was a major subject for Mr Ross, so he was qualified for the appointment.
