Mailbar looked impressive in training at Awapuni yesterday morning and is a likely improver for the Talavera Hurdles on the third day at Trentbam tomorrow. Mallbar has improved since failing at the Wanganui Hunt meeting. Hindi was another third day runner to please, while the Grand National candidates. Lordtuckey and Grand Coeur. continued their training in good style. * Malibar and Synair worked on Z the course proper, which was heavy. Malibar beat Synair decisively and took Imin 45sec for the seven furlongs. the last three furlongs tn 44sec. Hindi has been working in dashing style In recent weeks and yesterday he ran half a mile In 54sec. the last three ' furlongs in 40 2-ssec. On the plough, Lordtuckey completed half a mile in 56 3-ssec. the last three furlongs in 42sec. He has done everything right in recent weeks. Grand Coeur has thrown off the soreness which troubled him last week and he looked imnressfve tn running seven furlongs strongly.
