Richmond Still Leads Billiards
Richmond consolidated its two* point lead in the Canterbury A grade billiards championship when it beat Kaiapoi, 3-0. in the twelth round.
The teams closest to Richmond, R.S.A. and Post Office, had a close tussle before R.S.A. won. 2-1. E. Simons (Post Office) was the only unbeaten player after 12 rounds. E. Martin (Woolston I) scored the highest break of the round with 54. Results:— Woolston I 3 (R. Franks 200, T. Mintrom 200, Martin 200) beat Christchurch Working Men’s Club 0 (V. Choat 198, G. Carson 140. C. Watson 135): R.S.A. 2 (C. Kelly 120, D. Collie 200, T. Hall 200) beat Post Office 1 (S. Simons 200, L. Bromley 190, B. Narbey 1S9): Richmond 3 (T. Yesberg 200, E. Grimes 200, E. Greaves 200) beat Kaiapoi 0 (W. Adams 121, W. Burney 99. D. Hobday 128); New Brighton 2 <B. Kirkness 200, J. Hammond 200. N. Thomas 180) beat Woolston II 1 (H. Mason 164, R. Higgs 169, E. Hensell 200).
