Jumpers For Riccarton

“The Frew” Special Service WELLINGTON. Beyond and Explicit are unlikely to race at the Wellington winter meeting, but both may compete at the Grand National meeting next month. Both horses were scratched from Saturday's Wellington Steeples because of injury. Beyond was taken out after hurting himself in a fall at Hastings. His trainer, N. Bradley, who won the big chase there with Hi There, said Beyond was recovering from the leg injury and might be ready for Riccarton. Explicit's trainer, J. Bromby, also feels there is a chance that the chestnut will make the national meeting, although he would not commit himself on Saturday beyond saying that Explicit would be entered for the Grand National. The hurdler, Scorn, a stablemate of Explicit, will not start again at the meeting after his failure in the Trentham Hurdles. He, too, will be entered for Riccarton.
