Big Teams From Gore

“The Press’’ Special Service

INVERCARGILL. The Gore trainer, R. J. Cochrane, will leave this morning with a team of eight horses to be campaigned on the remainder of the South Canterbury circuit leading up to the Grand National meeting at Riccarton. The team will be Comprato, Orient Queen, Neilson, Ting-a-ling. Stormcloud, Wytell, So False and Lonvato.

The stable apprentice, T. P. Brown, has been engaged for Orient Queen, Comprato and Ting-a-ling at the South Canterbury meeting at Washdyke on Saturday. Wytell, So False and Lonvato will race later on the circuit. Cochrane said yesterday that he would most likely return to Gore before selecting a team for the Grand National meeting. He will be based at Waimate during the circuit. E. A. Winsloe will leave for Washdyke this morning with a team to be campaigned on the South Canterbury circuit. His team will include De General, Scram, Nelhaven, Red Sash, Amalgamation, Red Stole, and Silver Prince.

Winsloe said yesterday that he would probably return to Gore with his team before deciding on plans for the Grand National meeting.
