R.S.A. AND VIETNAM

Move To End Support Fails (N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, June 26. The withdrawal of R.S.A. support for New Zealand troops in Vietnam was proposed by Mr F. K. Robb, of Mapua, at the annual meeting of the Nelson branch of the Returned Services’ Association last night. Mr Robb, president of the Moutere branch, made it clear that he was bringing the matter forward as an individual member of the association. He moved that the Dominion executive of the R.S.A. be asked to withdraw its support of the Government’s action in sending troops to Vietnam.

The motion was hotly debated and the president, Mr W. L. Mclvor, warned members that a reporter was present and that they should think before they spoke. The motion was defeated on the voices.
