Drug Found In Body

Traces of a drug had been found in the body of the young woman who was found dead in a roadside ditch at the summit of Dyers Pass Road on June 18, said Detective Inspector M. T. Churches, of the Christchurch C. 1.8., yesterday. The police did not think that any other person had been involved in the death of the woman, Miss Shirley Lorraine Low, aged 22, a dentist’s receptionist, of 297 Hereford Street.

“The reports from the chemists in the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and the pathologist have not yet been completed and handed to us. However, there would have to be something most unexpected in the reports to cause us to change the views we now hold,” Mr Churches said.
