27 Cruises For 1969

Twenty-seven cruises out of New Zealand—the largest number undertaken by any company—are planned by the P. and O. lines for 1969. Announcing this to 44 travel agents and shipping company representatives at a reception in Christchurch, the company’s sales promotion manager (Mr K. Lewis) said “Window on the World” package holidays aimed at an older age group and “Seafaris” to South Africa, in cooperation with the Shaw Savill Line, were also planned. The eight round-the-world cruises from New Zealand between now and February, range from 12 to 23 weeks. The closing of the Suez Canal has increased opportunities for voyages to South Africa, and the 13 cruises, either from Auckland or Wellington, will range from a few days to a month’s sightseeing in the union.
