$138,111 Raised In Appeal fN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 10. The Royal Society has raised $138,111 in the science centre appeal, launched on May 30 by Dr W. H. Pickering, the director of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory at Pasadena, California. The appeal is for $500,000. Fellows and members of the society have given $72,845, and other donations total $35,266. The Government has promised up to $30,000.
New Zealand Breweries, the I.C.L group, U.E.B. Industries, N.Z. Forest Products, and Fisher and Paykel have given $5OO each. Tasman Pulp and Paper, Ltd, has given $2OOO, and Wattie’s Canneries, Glaxo Laboratories, lame and Marble, and Victoria Laundry, Ltd, have given $lOOO each.
