BURGLARIES IN CITY
Nine Premises Entered Nine burglaries were reported to the Christchurch police during the week-end. Four business premises were broken into, as well as the Burwood Public Library, and four suburban houses. Sedley Wells, Ltd, Cashel Street was entered between June 7 and 8 and a taperecorder valued at $7O was taken. The office and storeroom of the Addington Timber Company, Ltd, was entered and a quantity of cigarettes taken. The joinery factory of D. and A. Elder, at 68a Waltham Road, was entered on the night of June 7, and a radio and an electric drill valued at $4B stolen. Burwood Library The Burwood Public Library was entered overnight on Friday, and $12.75 in cash taken. A house in Thackeray Street, Sydenham, was burgled and a radio valued at $43 was stolen, and a house in Richardson Terrace, Woolston, was entered and $l4 in cash taken. Other properties were entered but nothing was reported stolen.
