Vegetable And Fruit Prices
Moot vegetables were cheaper at the Christchurch produce markets yesterday. Cabbages, lettuces, carrots and cauliflowers dropped the most from prices of lest week. Both cabbage* and lettuces were 81 a case cheaper. Sprouts, parsnips, kumeras and parsley were dearer. The sprouts, selling at up to 84 30 a case, were about 81 dearer than those sold last week. The parsley more than doubled last week’s price of 6c when a dozen buncheo sold for 15c Chinese gooseberries, seiling up to 32.50 a case, were about 81 cheaper than last week, and case* of rhubarb were up to 55c cheaper. The price of taaiartllo, mcressed about 70c. The official price range supplied by ■ the Christchurch Fruit and Vegetable Wholesalers’ Association is:—
