Young Men’s Awards
Christchurch nominations for the “three outstanding young men of the year” awards, made by New Zealand Jaycees in association with W. D. and H. O. Wills (N.Z.), Ltd, are being called by the combined metropolitan committee of the organisation. Nominations will close on June 30. Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 40 and have outstanding achievements in their fields. The Christchurch judging committee will be Mr R. E. Glensor, manager of the Canterbury Institute of Management; Dr M. M. Bums, principal of Lincoln College; Mr A. I. Cottrell, solicitor; and Mr D. W. Lyall, principal of the Christchurch Technical Institute. They will make their choice in July of national finalists who will be judged in August and September.
The three awards will be announced at the national Jaycee convention in Dunedin in October.
