N.Z. Nurses In India

It was with much pride that New Zealand could say it had three nurses at the Raphael International Centre at Debra Dun, said the chairman of the Christchurch branch of the Ryder-Cheshire Foundation (Mr S. J. Parker) at the annual meeting of the branch. Mr Parker said in his annual report that contributions to the home for incurables in India bad again increased, but had not quite reached the cost of the home a year. More than $2OOO was now needed. The Christchurch branch had sent $1662 during the year. During the year the foundation bought the film “Share Thy Bread,” which it had screened successfully at several Christchurch schools to raise money and inform the viewers of the work the foundation was doing In India. Future fund-raising screenings of “The Pathfinder" were planned. Officers elected were: Chairman, Mr S. J. Parker; deputychairman, Mr H. C. Brown; secretary, Mr I. McW. Harkness; and a commitee of 15.
