SHOOTER KILLED

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, May 16. A man was killed last evening while duck shooting. He was Peter Rivers Loe, aged 36, married, with five children, a farmer of Te Kumi, near Te Kuiti. Mr Loe left his home at 5.30 p.m. to go duck shooting alone. When he had not returned by 9 p.m. his wife became alarmed, and telephoned a neighbour. Mr Loe was found dead on the neighbouring farm of Mr E. Grainger. The Te Kuiti police said it appeared the shotgun had discharged into Mr Loe’s chest as he was going through a fence between the two properties. He was killed instantly.
