Southern Jumpers School Well

“The Press” Special Service HAMILTON. Th, Seddon Hurdle, candidate, Ettrick, gave a good display when he Jumped four hurdles In company with Gilt Light at Ta Rapa yesterday morning. Eiffel Tower and Mosque cleared a full circuit of the country in good style, to finish ahead of Koral. The going was perfect, and unlees there Is rain towards the end ot the week the track should have dried well by Saturday. Gilt Light (Sutherland) and Ettrick (W. Hillis) had plenty of speed on when they cleared four hurdles impressively. Ettrick, which was going easily at the finish, has done his most recent racing over country but he will revert to hurdling on Saturday. Gilt Light looks to have done well since hts encouraging second to Sentry in the Matangi Hurdles on the first day of the Waikato meeting and he should be hard to

beat in the Winter Hack Hurdles on Saturday.

Beyond (Clements) schooled neatly over the three steeplechase fences in the straight. He will be raced over country after the Great Northern meeting, probably at Awapunt. Eiffel Tower (W. Hillis). Mosque (Sutherland) and Koral (Clements) were together in a school over a round of the country, taking in eight fences over on* mile and threequarters. Though ho Jumped a little slowly early, Eiffel Tower soon warmed to his work and gave a good display. Ho was going easily with Mosque at the finish, with six lengths to Koral, which jumped well but was not quite as seasoned as his rivals. Mosque will be ridden in the Waikato Steeples by W. Sutherland. His trainer, W. J. Hillis, will ride Eiffel Tower, and B. J. Clements has been engagbd for Koral. Kumai, which looks to have come through recent racing very well, was given strong work tn a hill paddock adjoining the Ta Bapa track.
