WILSON AND HORTON PROFIT, DIV. LESS
Wilson and Horton, Ltd, the Auckland publisher of the “New Zealand Herald” and the “New Zealand Weekly News,” has reduced its total dividend from 9 to 8 per cent in the year to March 31. Group profit fell 14.5 per cent or 874,219, to 8436,817, directors say in a preliminary report. The total dividend requires
$33,660 less at $269,280 and is covered 1.6 times by the profit. The earning rate on ordinary capital is down from 15.1 to 12.9 per cent. The latest profit is after ! providing $20,397 more for depreciation at $447,995 and $57,957 less at 8432,895 for tax. The recommended final i dividend of 5f per cent is : payable on July 3. ex June 21.
