“Rose Of Tralee” Hostess

Miss Seems Lateea will fij from Bombay to be host ess at a cocktail reception for the Christchurch elimination of the “Rose of Tralee” contest on May 25. Miss Latees, an Air India hostess, will be paying a short visit to New Zealand. Mr Gary Larsen, also of Air India, will be the chief host at the reception, which will be held in the Bank of New Zealand building. One of the guests will be the 19M "Hose of Tralee” (Miss Laraine Stollery). More than 20 contestants are expected to meet the six judges. Three semifinalists will be selected to go forward to the New Zealand final of the contest, to be judged at Auckland on June 8. The judges Include representatives of the airlines which sponsor the contest, news media and the Combined Irish Societies. They are Mrs M. E. Green (Combined Irish Societies of New Zealand) Miss Grace Green (women’s editor of the “Christchurch Star”), and Messrs B. Edwards (N.Z.8.C.), R. Okeby (Air New Zealand), P. Muckstep (Air India), and P. Pelegrine (Alitalia Airlines).

The judges* decision may not be announced until the Chrlstchurcb Irish Society Ball, which will be held In the evening and is the local society’s “Rose of Tralee” ball.
