WELLINGTON, May 13.
Financial concessions are understood to have been made by the Government in its detailed negotiations with Comalco and two Japanese industrial firms over the construction of Comalco’s planned multi-million dollar aluminium smelter at Bluff. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) reported today that the Cabinet had made a “number of important decisions” which were adequate to enable negotiations to continue.
He told a press conference that the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Marshall) had reported to the Cabinet on the state of negotiations.
