HEART-TRANSPLANT PATIENT WRITING BOOK.—Dr Philip Blaiberg, the longest survivor of a heart-transplant operation, photographed at Ms home in Cape Town beside a portrait of his surgeon, Professor Christiaan Barnard. Dr Blaiberg, a 58-year-old retired dentist, who received his new heart at a Cape Town hospital on January 2 last, is writing a book on his life and his experiences before and after the operation. He describes the time he has spent at home since the operation as being one of the happiest periods of his life.
