Weed Clogs Dam

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, May 12. Parts of the intake screens at Aratlatia dam in the Waikato River have buckled under the weight of lake weed and are lodged in the tunnel leading to the turbines. A massive accumulation of weed across the intakes has closed the hydro-electric power station. It is expected to be back in service on Monday.
