Woman Dies; Car Hit Pole

HASTINGS. May 10. A woman died and her husband was injured when the car she was driving hit a pole at PaHpaki, a few miles south of Hastings, about 2.45 pm. today. She was Mrs Elsie Wakefield, aged about 80, of Fenwick Street, Hastings. Her husband, John Thomas Wakefield, was in a satisfactory condition in the Hastings Hospital tonight. He has shock, concussion, and a broken leg.
