Record Of Wins Set In Westport Competitions
An Ashburton girl, Glenda Hampton, ended the Westport Competition Society’s festival yesterday with a record of IS vine in the fancy and national dancing eection. She won five major trophies, a feat never excelled in the annual event. The dancing classes, while not as well patronised as in previous years, attrseted much attention. Kay Gleeson (Christchurch) did well, but Weet Coast entrants were often amongst the prise winners. The entries in other classes wers small.
