TROTTING Adioway, Glenda Hanover For Double At Forbury
Adioway, from Brighton, near Dunedin, and Glenda Hanover, from Invercargill, were runners-up in their races on the first night at Forbury Park and if they race as well they could form the successful TA.B. double combination tomorrow evening.
Adioway appeared to lose his position on the home turn and he came from near the tail of the field to run Bass Strait to half a length.
He has been a difficult horse to bring back to form and he is expected to show marked improvement as a result of that race. A peak run should be good enough to give him a win in the Southland Handicap. Curragh Dan could not be started last Saturday because o' a stone bruise. He has worked satisfactorily in the last few days and he could prove to be the pick of the horses on the limit. Stewart Hanover, a rather unlucky third in his race last Saturday, is in fine form and he should again be prominent. The smart front-runner, Atlee. Royal Fame, Snowline, and Vantage should do best of the others on 12 yards, while Atanui appeals more than any of the remainder. Glenda Hanover came fast but too late for second to Young Prince last Saturday. She will only need to make her move a little earlier to win the Tried Handicap. Warily and Kimberley Kid
could be the pick of the Canterbury horses in the race,’ although bold showings are expected from Student, April Showers and Flight Adorian. Killadar and Jimmy Dieman should strengthen the representation of southern stables in the race. The on-course double will be run on the Fairfield Handicap and the Pacific Handicap, Golden Splendour and Officer Kelly forming a likely combination. Fine weather is again forecast and the track will be fast ON-COURSE DOUBLB
