The French Rugby league team beat French Hopefuls, 37-17, yesterday in one of a series of training matches preparing the party for the world championship matches in Australia and New Zealand. France led, 16-10, at half-time. The team trainer, Mr J. Lacoste, said “We still have a lot of work to do. Some of the boys could do with some running.
“Among the backs, we shall have to work a lot, particularly the acceleration and the positioning of our centres.”
