MELBOURNE The boom in minings dominated the market after th* new Western Mining nickOl strikes in Western Australia and the B. oil plans. Western Mining opened to feverish trading at 1400 and quickly reached i peak of 1420. Later the price eased back as dsmahd subsided and closed 240 up at 1340. Most other minings particularly nickel stock* were tn demand and showed sharp gains. Hampton Areas up 100 at 1180. B.H.P. boomed after announcement that Esso-B.H.P. would drill ill wella in Bass Strait fields. The price touched 2490 then closed 140 up at 2480. Peko gained 40 to 1090.
