TENNIS DATES

Field Days For Women Women's field days will be held at Wilding Park by the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association once a month during the winter. Similar days during the summer were highly successful, the last one, in March, having an entry of 106. Played on the hard courts, they will be held on the first Thursday of each month. The first will be on May 2 and the others on June 6, July 4, and August 1. Women will enter in pairs in A or B sections, according to their choice, and will play matches to the best of nine games, with winners moving up. Play will be from 11 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. so that mothers can be home for returning children. In the summer, players attended from throughout the city and the association hopes the winter tournaments will be equally well supported. The days will be organised by Mrs B. A. Miles, a member of the association’s management committee.
