C.W.I. Remits Discussed
Remits for the Dominion conference in July were discussed at the executive meeting of North Canterbury Federation of Country Women’s Institutes this week.
Preliminary arrangements were made for a drama festival in June, a bowling tournament at Omihi in June, an Eisteddfod at Waipara in September and the half-yearly federation meeting at Cheviot in October.
Mrs C. H. Bethell, the house keeping convener, reported that a housekeeper was employed at present and that the scheme was working well. Mrs R. Barnard (Kalapoi) was appointed to replace Mrs J. Rennie as delegate to the National Council of Women. Four voluntary organisers presented their reports. Mrs R. Michael, who reported oh the closing of the Spotswood C.W.1., said that the members would join other institutes in the area.
