„ INVERCARGILL. Mosque, a light-weight candidate for the Great Western Steeplechase, was by far the most impressive trlalist in a restricted morning’s schooling at Riverton yesterday. Only five horses schooled. The going was easy after heavy rain.
Mosque /Hillis) had Seven Veils (Sutherland) and Verey Light (Weaver) for companions in the first school.
Mosque and Seven Veils tumped the first fence safely, but Verey Light dropped his rider when Seven Veils took his path. All three were taken back and completed the school free of incident. Mosque broke clear early and gave a fluent exhibition of leaping. Ettrick (Hillis) was paired with his more experienced stablemate, Istan Light (Weaver), in the second bout. Ettrick’s superior pace on the flat was evident throughout, but overall Istan Light jumped more cleanly, especially in the early stages. Istan Light ran up to Ettrick starting the run through the middle, and they completed the school on terms.
