Late-Comers
The Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board did not get a quorum until 15 minutes after the appointed time last evening. “The Press” reporter was late. He spent a few minutes in the wind-swept streets near the board’s headquarters before writing off his hat which had probably reached the Avon River.
When he entered the building he was met by Mr D. B. Rich, who said he was also late, and would be later. Mr Rich is chairman of the Waimairi County Council and Waimairi was without power. Mr Rich had an electric razor in his poeket and had a quick shave in an office before joining the board meeting to form a quorum.
