SHOP OWNER ROBBED
Police Make Arrest
A woman was threatened with a knife and robbed of $32 about 11 a.m. yesterday in the bookshop she'owns at the corner of Racecourse Road and Yaldhurst Road. The woman, Mrs N. O’Connor, was unharmed. She said a youth came into the shop and spent about 15 minutes looking at books. He then approached her, took out a knife and told her to hand over the money or she would “cop this.” After she handed over the money the youth made off through a rear door. A police cordon was thrown about the area and dogs were brought in.
Late last evening a youth was arrested and charged with robbery. He will appear in the Magistrate’s Court today.
