Presentations To Firemen

Presentations were made to two members of the Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Brigade at a social evening of the Fire Brigades’ Social Club last night. Senior Station Officer D. G. Mardon, who joined the brigade in Christchurch in 1949. was one of the men to whom the presentation was made. Mr Mardon is leaving the fire service to take an appointment as transport officer for the St John Ambulance Brigade in Dunedin. For the last 15 years Mr Mardon has taken an active part in instruction and administrative activities of the St John’s Ambulance Division in Christchurch. A presentation was also made to Senior Fireman R. R Barson. Mr Barson who joined the permanent brigade in Christchurch in December, 1945, is retiring.

Chief Fire Officer L. R. Osmond made the presentations.
