Premier Title To Taylor
The consistent R. E. Taylor won the champion of champions shoot at the Christchurch Rifle Club's range at Tai Tapu on Saturday.
Conditions were reasonable, but testing. Good rounds were shot early in the day, but the standard dropped a little at 600 yards.
Taylor scored 144 points out of a possible of 150. This placed him three points ahead of J. Scott (Timaru). G. R. H. Smith (Malvern) was third, with 139.
Taylor and his Christchurch club-mate, G. Manson, won the combined match by four points. Results were.—Taylor, 300 yards 50, 500 yards 47, 600 yards 47, total, 144; Manson, 47, 45, 45, 137; combined total 281. W. Oakley (Malvern), 45, 48, 45, 138; Smith, 48, 44, 47. 139, 277: C. Thoms (Sydenham), 47, 47. 43, 137; P. Le Cren (Sydenham) 48, 48, 40. 136, 273. B. A. C. Hoban (Waiau), 46, 46. 43, 135; F. McKie (Waiau), 47 , 46 , 44. 137, 272.
