Wilder To Be Moved To Paparua Prison

WELLINGTON, April 7.
The noted prison escaper George Wilder will be moved to Paparua Prison, Christchurch, in the next few days. Wilder has already been moved from the maximum security block at Auckland’s Mount Eden gaol to Waikeria, near Hamilton. The assistant secretary for
penal institutions at the Department of Justice (Mr I. J. D. McKay) said today that Wilder had been taken to Waikeria ten days ago to appear before the Parole Board which was reviewing his case.
Wilder, who took up painting while in Mount Eden, was recently award a corresponding scholarship by a prominent United States art school.
