Kawaret In Good Run
“The Press” Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. Kawaret, which will be ridden by N. G. Constable in the Twy ford Hack Handicap for appren tice riders at Hastings on Saturday, worked well al Awapuni yesterday morning. She ran half a mile in. good style and could be an outside prospect in the second leg of the on-course double. Working on the plough, which was In good order Kawaret took 50 4-ssec, the last J.hree fur longs in 37 3-ssec. Kawarel was a first-day maiden winner at the Mariawatu meeting but failed against the hacks a week later. Hindi and Blue Bandit covered half a mile in 52sec, the last three furlongs in 39sec, with Blue Bandit's rider being In trouble with a broken leather. Edward James sprinted three furlongs in 40 2-ssec and Jazz ran six in Imin 21 the last three in 39sec. Jazz is finding It hard to regain winning form. Wilma Rudolph was given a run over the pony hurdles then worked over half a mile in 51 2-ssec, the last three furlongs in 38sec.
