Mini-skirts For Guides?
(N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 2. The question of the length of girl guide skirts has not arisen in New Zealand, according to a spokesman for the movement in Auckland. She was commenting on the reported switch to mini-skirts in Britain. She said New Zealand guides had freedom to make their own decisions on the length of skirts. “The only restriction we have on the length of our guides’ skirts is good taste. There is no set rule,” she said. “The girl guide uniform is one we are proud of. We regard it with respect In some ways hemlines are at the discretion of guiders but we certainly wouldn’t let the uniform look ridiculous.”
