Three Million Made
’THE three-millionth frontx wheel-drive car to be built by the British Motor Corporation since the announcement of the Mini in August, 1959, came off the assembly line at Longbridge on February 20. The car, an Austin automatic model, has been pre-
sented to the Canadian Arthritic and Rheumatic Society, and will be used for the transport and rehabilitation of patients. In the eight years and a half since the Mini was announced it has accounted for nearly 1,700,000 of the three million vehicles sold. Of this total, 1.2 million cars have been exported, and more than half of these have been Minis. The main export markets for B.M.C. front-wheel-drive cars are Australia, the United States, South Africa, New Zealand and Canada.
