Best 20/20 Colour

Even the 20/20 Vision exhibition posters—a whirlpool of bold colours against a yellow background—are being sold during the festival. Explained John Coley, one of the organisers: “It’s the best colour printing in the show—and the most expersive.”

The poster was designed by Michael Kitson, a lecturer in design at the University of Canterbury, and silk-screened in the same manner as the exhibited prints, but with more colour. So many persons inquired about them that the artists decided to sell them at $1 each to help meet exhibition expenses. “Look at this registration —it’s spot on,” said Coley, admiring the poster again. “You know, something like this would have been much better as the official poster for the festival. It looks gay and festive. The other is far too funereal.”
