Boys’ Brigade Cross-Country
J. Gallagher of the 23rd Christchurch company of the Boys’ Brigade, won the annual Canterbury Battalion crosscountry race in South Hagley Park on Saturday, in a record time of lOmin 59sec. P. Thompson (30th Christchurch) finished nine yards behind Gallagher, to take second place for the second successive year.
The previous record of 12min 4sec was set by P. Enticott (14th Christchurch), over a longer course in 1966.
The most successful company was the 33rd Christchurch, associated with the Hoon Hay Presbyterian Church, with three seconds and one third. Results:
