Disputes At Westfield

(Nt. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 18. About 184 men walked off their jobs at the Westfield Freezing Company, Ltd, works this afternoon. The secretary of the Auckland Freezing Workers’ Union (Mr T. P. Kelly) said about 150 freezing workers stopped work because they could not work at speed with hard meat.

Thirty-four labourers in the beef boning department stopped work because of a pay dispute. As a result about 25 boners had to stop work for the day. An official of the company said tonight that the disputes had been resolved and all the men would resume work tomorrow. J
