(N.Z. Press ADELAIDE.
With the brothers Fileur and Fulmen, and My Lady Fair—a half sister to the champion Light Fingers—as the leading figures, New Zealand-bred horses called the tune at Victoria Park on Saturday. Fileur. by Le Filou from Dulcie, won the City Of Adelaide Handicap of one mile from the fast finishing Fuimen. Both were having only their second outing since the Victorian spring carnival. Fileur, rated one of the best three-year-olds in Australia this season, won the Moonee Valley Stakes but was unlucky in the Caulfield Guineas and missed a place. He also suffered interference in the Caulfield Cup and finished last.
Fileur’s plans now are for a start in the Alister Clark Stakes at Moonee Valley on March 30, after which he will be spelled and then prepared for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups. Like Fileur, Fuimen is in the Bitrhday Cup at Victoria Park next Saturday, but Fuimen *s main missions are the Adelaide and Brisbane Cups In May and June—races he won last year. Fileur is trained by C. S. Hayes, and Fuimen by J. B. Cummings.
