Beckenhan; strengthened Its position in the Suburban Cricket Association’s senior grade when the tenth and last round matches began on Saturday. After scoring 170 in its first innings, Beckenham captured seven Aranui wickets cheaply. R. Townsend had the rewarding figures of four for 16. Waltham gave an improved batting display, scoring 234 against Burnside. R. Cooper and Neville Clark both scored half centuries.
Good bowling by B. Buckner helped to restrict Merivale’s first innings total to 180, but Sumner failed to follow up the advantage and was poorly placed at stumps. Scores: — Senior A
