The Whole Job
One of the feature displays at this week’s Methven show will be a homespinning demonstration. A sheep will be shorn and as the wool comes off its back Mrs H. Thorne, of Hororata, will start spinning it on a wheel that has basically been little modified since its development in the sixteenth
century. One or two local women will then proceed to knit the wool that Mr* Thorne has spun. Mrs Thome comes from the Methven district She was formerly Miss Ariel Winn, of Lyndhurst She believes that the sheep may also come from her old home district
