N.A.C. Lets Contracts

Contracts worth about $15,000 have been let by the National Airways Corporation to engineering and related specialist firms, mainly in the South Island, for the manufacture of items for the Boeing 737. The corporation’s engineering manager (Mr A. J. Smaill) said yesterday that most of the Items were for Pratt and Witney engine tooling. Contracts worth about $95,000 had yet to be let, he said. These will range from $l2 to $2300. About $40,000 will be spent by National Airways in direct purchases from the Pratt and Whitney plant in East Hartford, Connecticut.
