Man Helped Bede

(N.Z. Press Association)

DUNEDIN, March 11

A workman who allowed the escape of “a notorious and violent” criminal in Auckland last month and afterwards committed a series of burglaries in Dunedin, Trevor John Poulson, aged 21. was today sentenced to a total of four years and a half imprisonment when he appeared before Mr Justice Henry in the Supreme Court for sentence.

Poulson, who was not represented, was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence by Mr J. D. Murray, S.M., after he admitted, among other charges, aiding Mihaly Bede in his escape from lawful custody on January 25 at Auckland.
