R.S.A. Declines Request
A request for financial assistance by the Fund for Vietnam Committee was rejected by the executive of the Christchurch Returned Services’ Association on Monday evening.
The committee, a group of Vietnamese students in Christchurch said it was trying to raise money to help countrymen who had suffered in the fighting in South Vietnam.
Funds would be sent through the New Zealand Red Cross Society to buy food and medicine for hospitals and refugee camps in South Vietnam, the organisation said. Students were contributing.
