Brighton To Call Meeting

The New Brighton soccer club is seeking support to call a special meeting of club delegates to the Canterbury Football Association to pass a vote of no-confidence in the Southern League committee. Brighton, which had an outstanding record in Canterbury competitions last season, has strongly protested at being placed in the second division of the Southern League, which will start on April 6. It is understood Brighton has the backing of the two other clubs it would require to call a special meeting, under the rules of the C.F.A.

However, regardless to the outcome of its quarrel with the Southern League committee, Brighton has reversed its previous decision and has sent official confirmation that it will enter the second division. The club has taken this step on behalf of its players and to give them the opportunity of attaining a higher grade of soccer.
