No Buoy At Wreck

Divers were unable to investigate the sunken lighter Kotare off the Lyttelton Heads yesterday because the marker buoy had disappeared. Captain A. R. Champion proposed to find the wreck by trawling with the pilot cutter Wairangi and a trawler, but after a conversation with the owners of the Kotare in Dunedin did not go ahead with the idea.

The lighter foundered under tow and is a navigational hazard. The Marine Department will now decide on its disposal or salvage.
